Note the sighting hoods on top of this turret and that the later turrets pictured further above eliminated these and instead have sighting ports in the sides of the turret
This is one of the turrets removed from Mutsu when she was rebuilt during the mid-1930s.  It is not a turret taken from the Mutsu wreck as is often claimed, as those turrets were not salvaged until 1970 and the Etajima display was constructed during the late 1930s.
